The platform will integrate advanced construction equipment with key smart features to improve reliability and productivity.

By moving towards unmanned operations, the company expects a significant surge in productivity of 30-70% at construction sites, and improved safety.

Dong-wook Lee, CEO and President of HD Hyundai XiteSolution, said, “With the largest cloud provider as our partner, we can accelerate innovation towards unmanned autonomous construction sites of the future.

“This collaboration marks a major milestone in HD Hyundai’s ongoing transformation beyond manufacturing into a comprehensive solutions provider.”

HD Hyundai plans to create a smart construction solution by utilising the cloud, Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and services, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning capabilities of AWS.

This solution is said to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and safety of HD Hyundai’s next-generation integrated construction models which are set to launch in 2025. HD Hyundai Construction Equipment and HD Hyundai Infracore are developing the models.

HD Hyundai will be using AWS to improve X-Wise Xite, an advanced construction site management solution that was exhibited at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024. The solution combines data from construction sites and equipment to provide insights that have the potential to enhance productivity, reliability, and automation in construction processes.

HDX is a subsidiary of HD Hyundai, which owns HD Hyundai Construction Equipment (HCE) and HD Hyundai Infracore (HDI), owner of the Hyundai and Develon brands, respectively. HDX was formed in 2021 to create synergies between HCE and HDI.
