LiuGong adds new dealers to UK network
02 July 2025

LiuGong has announced the appointment of two new dealer partners in the UK, Dragon Plant Sales in South Wales and Lloyd Ltd, which has locations in northern England and Scotland.
The China-based OEM first entered the UK market in 2019 and has since leveraged both direct sales and regional dealer partnerships. According to LiuGong, this has allowed the most effective rollouts of new tech and national support.
Dragon Plant Sales will cover Wales in its entirety, while Lloyd Ltd, which has its headquarters in Carlisle, will cover northern regions through its existing branches.
Offering a combined total of about 75 years in the UK construction market, LiuGong stated that extensive industry knowledge and local relationships will be instrumental in driving growth.
“This is great news for LiuGong,” said Dean Thornwell, MD of LiuGong UK, which has its headquarters in Portsmouth. “We are delighted to welcome Dragon Plant Sales and Lloyd Ltd into our network. LiuGong is a world leader in several areas of plant equipment technology, and that really captivates dealers.”
LiuGong put forward that the announcement about new dealers helps to reinforce the resilience of the brand amid industry challenges, including tariffs on some Chinese manufacturers following the UK’s Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) investigation.
“While the TRA’s investigation is largely behind us and it’s business as usual, we’ve appealed the tariff applied to our battery electric machines,” said Thornwell. “It’s a short-sighted move that conflicts with the UK’s ambitions around net-zero and sustainability. As a manufacturer delivering world-class BEVs, we believe this could discourage progress at a time when low-carbon innovation should be accelerating.”
