Battery One. The battery system for battery-powered construction equipment

14 May 2024

Battery-powered construction equipment is becoming an increasingly attractive option for construction companies, especially with a standard such as Battery One. With Battery One, the batteries are being compatible with a growing range of equipment from different manufacturers including Wacker Neuson, Mikasa and Swepac.

The battery system includes three battery sizes (500 Wh, 1000 Wh, 1400 Wh), a standard and a powerful 13.5A charger for short charging times as well as a UN-certified transport box, which enable more efficient construction site operation. Battery One batteries are extremely powerful, flexible, and robust, covering the requirements on the construction site. Today, Battery One can be used in battery-powered rammers, plates, and an internal vibrator backpack system for concrete consolidation from different manufacturer brands. The Battery One app offers users of battery-powered construction equipment the opportunity to call up machine data in a bundle and carry out software updates on the battery themselves.

Compatibility makes it easy to switch to electromobility

The availability of a multi-vendor interchangeable battery for construction equipment is key to the growing adoption of electromobility on construction sites. Battery One makes it easier for customers to go electric – in particular to switch from products that were previously powered by conventional drive technologies.

The idea: One battery standard makes construction site operations much easier, as only one battery and one charging system need to be considered in logistics. Customers benefit from this compatibility as well as from cost savings – a strong impetus for the further spread of emission-free equipment on the construction site.

Benefits in rental logistics

In addition, the equipment that is powered by Battery One is intuitive to use. The push-button start of the battery makes it very easy for any operator to use the equipment, regardless of their level of experience – a plus for rental companies with different customers and numerous operators.

The Battery One batteries were developed with the requirements of the construction site in mind and are extremely robust. They are designed to be used in vibrating machines. And they also perform under rough conditions. After renting out the equipment with batteries, the batteries can be charged with the quick charger and go directly to a new customer. Thus, rental logistics

are easier to operate with one battery system only.

What is more, with Battery One there is no need to have a multitude of battery systems in the rental fleet to still have the choice in equipment of different manufacturer brands. And Battery One is working to further expand the range of products and make the battery system available to additional manufacturers in the construction sector – this makes up a real standard.
