True Value and ARA form alliance
The American Rental Association (ARA) has created a new alliance with True Value Company, the US-based hardware cooperative, to provide ARA member benefits to the cooperative’s retailers who offer rental services.

Spanish rental company GAM reported a 25% fall in revenues to €277.8 million for the full year 2009 and it made a net loss of €8.9 million. EBITDA (profit before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) was €83.4 million.
Lavendon confident of weathering a flat 2010
Lavendon Group said it did not expect further significant deterioration in its markets in 2010 although neither is it forecasting any material improvement. The company reported a £47.8 million pre-tax loss for the full year 2009 – including exception items of £58.2 million – on revenues that were 13% down at £226.9 million.

Report forecasts slow UK rental recovery
A new report into the UK’s plant hire market forecasts a 6% fall in revenues in 2010 to follow the almost 22% drop last year, with a very slow recovery starting in 2011. The report forecasts that revenues in 2014 will still be more than 20% down on the market peak of 2007.
