Point of Rental integrates with fleet tracking specialist

Point of Rental Software has announced a new integration between its Elite rental management platform and Samsara’s GPS fleet tracking system.
The integration connects route and delivery data from Elite’s Dispatch Center with Samsara’s tracking technology, allowing users to monitor vehicle location, route progress, and delivery status in real time.
Arrival and departure alerts are triggered when vehicles or equipment enter or exit geofenced areas, with notifications sent via email or SMS through Elite.
Point of Rental said the feature enables rental businesses to provide delivery updates to customers automatically and helps streamline internal communication.
“Our customers are already using Samsara to manage their fleets,” said John Wooten, Elite’s product manager.
“Connecting delivery and location data to Elite will allow them to communicate better internally and with their customers. We’re excited to see the impact this integration will have for our customers – and their customers, too.”
The integration also supports SMS alerts through Elite’s Twilio feature, offering an additional channel for route notifications.
Point of Rental added that the integration is intended for companies already using Samsara to manage fleet operations.
The move comes as the company continues its aim to integrate Record360, the machine inspection app that it acquired in 2024, into its offering.
Speaking to IRN, CEO Wayne Harris said, “Record360 is the de facto standard on inspection. They are the leader in the industry, and one of the things that’s really great about them is that [machine inspections are] all they focus on. They’ve just focused on that workflow, that process. It is really built out, full-featured, easy to use and easy to see.
“For Point of Rental or our competitors, inspections are just a part of a bigger thing. While we have that [function] in our current product, it’s just not as robust as Record360, so we’re excited about integrating to Record360 to bring that robustness into Point of Rental.”
