Chinese manufacturer ZMG aims to become sustainable over the next two years, according to Peter Zhang, the company’s international sales director.

Still only 18 months old, the company is looking to establish itself in its home market, but wants to sell globally once it has a stable financial footing.

Zhang, speaking to IRN at APEX Asia in Shanghai, China, said, “At the moment, we’re only selling in China, but we’re not limiting ourselves to this market.

“We need to become sustainable over the next few years, and balance the books.”

Zhang said that the company manufactured 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 18m scissors, with its 6, 10 and 12m products being the most popular to date. He said around 50% of its sales were to rental companies.

He added, “Step by step we want to put our own stamp on our products, to give it a distinctive characteristic, so that people can recognise a ZMG product.

“We will also look to manufacture different product types, such as booms.”

The company revealed its new scissor lift series at the show. The scissors offer a wider design, which the manufacturer said enhanced stability. It also has a hydraulic design with lower energy consumption in mind, for longer working times between charging, and smoother operation. The new design also allows more space for the extension, said the company, while the all-in-one box design aids maintenance.
