Zeppelin Rental launches industrial services division

Zeppelin Rental is launching a new rental business, Zeppelin Industrial Services, targeting industrial customers. The aim is to grow the division from current annual revenues of less than €10 million to €50 million business within five years.

The division, a sister company to Zeppelin Rental within Zeppelin’s business unit Rental, is based on the GSL company that Zeppelin acquired at the start of 2011. Located in Hünxe north of Essen and founded in 1997, GSL rents specialist equipment to the industrial sector, including welding tools, non-destructive testing equipment and lifting equipment.

Zeppelin Rental co-managing director Peter Schrader said the Industrial Services business will co-located with existing Zeppelin branches, but will also function as a mobile business using a fleet of mobile vans that will visit major industrial sites. In addition it will establish temporary locations on major industrial sites.

Co-managing director Wolfgang Hahnenberg said a major benefit of the division will be the new customers and opportunities that it will bring to the mainstream Zeppelin rental operation, in particular for products such as modular space.
