Xylem to open Africa’s largest pump rental hub

The South African business of pump rental specialist Xylem will open its rental hub in Gauteng next month as the company continues its investment into emerging markets.

The company, which operates in areas including mining, construction, agriculture and residential, has greatly expanded in Africa in recent years.

With this strong national presence, the team at Xylem South Africa - in conjunction with its global parent company - decided to invest into the expansion of Xylem’s rental service offering in Sub-Saharan Africa.

“We saw a greater need for tailor-made rental solutions developing in South Africa and its neighbouring countries,” said Dirk Bekker, rental manager at Xylem South Africa.

“There are many benefits to rental solutions, with affordability being at the top of the list. Renting can assist clients in reducing capital expenditure while still retaining access to top of the range,world-leading pump brands,” he added.

Products available for rental from the hub will include Flygt 440 submersible units and Xylem’s range of Godwin Pumps.

The hub operates nationally through Xylem’s regional depots and delivery and transport options to other areas can be discussed on request. Specialists will be able to put together hands-on solutions for customers while offering technical advice and maintenance strategies.

“This will ultimately result in less downtime and higher productivity for clients,” said Mr Bekker.

“Coupled with the costs saved on initial capital layout on pumps or related systems,the sky is the limit for our customers. We place great value on providing the best solutions for businesses that place their trust in us.”
