Worksport targets international sales of COR battery power system

US-based clean energy manufacturer Worksport Ltd said final UL and CSA safety certifications of its COR portable energy system is expected this month, clearing the way for global transport and commercialisation of the product.

The manufacturer said it had prioritised compliance to ensure the COR product is eligible for sale on major retail shelves and safe for unrestricted transport.

The energy system is built around the COR HUB inverter and power management unit with COR batteries, with each battery providing around 1kWh of energy. Customers can use it in single- or multi‑battery configurations.

The unit provides four 120V AC outlets – offering 1,800W continuous and up to 2,000W boost power - and USB charging, with four USB‑A ports supporting 18W fast charging and two USB‑C ports supporting up to 100W each.

The base unit plus battery weighs 17.5kg.

Worksport said applications, using a single battery, included 16 hours of laptop operation, 80 full charges for mobile phones, and 480 minutes operation of a compact air compressor.

The unit will also provide 288 minutes charging capacity for a 200W drone.

The UL and CSA certification are two of a wide range of certifications that the company is seeking.

“Securing these certifications is not merely a technical formality; it is a commercial necessity that separates enterprise-grade products from the rest of the pack,” said Steven Rossi, CEO of Worksport.

“With transport and federal approvals now in hand, our supply chain is fully active. The imminent completion of our UL and efficiency certifications in Q1 will be the final key to targeting certain major B2B and ‘Big Box’ retail partnerships, as these institutions require strict safety validations before placing a single purchase order.”

Rossi told International Rental News that as yet there had been no sales to the equipment rental sector, “but we’re exploring either that - selling to rental companies - or a DIY rental approach, where we would offer the units in key areas for exhibitions, conferences, events, and disasters, etc [in certain areas of the USA].”
