Wacker Neuson has opened a used equipment centre in Gotha, Germany, that will sell equipment from its own rental fleet as well as traded-in models.

The company held its first auction of used equipment from the site in early April.

"We got off to a great start," said Ralph-Jörg Gruber, head of Wacker Neuson Used. "Our first-ever equipment auction proved a particular hit with visitors." Prospective buyers could view items online before the event.

Equipment sold in the first auction included concrete vibrators, pumps, rammers, plates and compact equipment weighing up to 15 t.

The Gotha site, located around 100 km west of Leipzig in central Germany, is a 16000 m² facility and will stock used light and compact equipment from Wacker Neuson and Kramer Allrad as well as competitive brands.

Equipment listings and prices can be found at the centre's website (www.used.wackerneuson.com), which currently shows around 60 items of equipment, mostly Wacker Neuson, but also including Takeuchi, Bobcat, Ausa and Merlo machines.

"We are delighted that our used equipment center has been so well received", said Mr Ralph-Jörg Gruber, "However, this is just the beginning. We certainly see great potential for expansion in this area."
