Vp plc in the UK said key targets set by its new CEO Alice Woodwark include targeting more multi-division projects to increase market share and a sharper focus on specialist infrastructure-led contracts.

The company – which operates 10 specialist rental divisions for products including telehandlers, shoring, railway equipment and tool hire – said it will also focus on its digital roadmap with the aim of improving rental pricing, customer service and cross-divisional working.

The targets were included in Vp’s trading update in which it said annual profit was likely to be in the £26-29 million range for the 2026 financial year, in line with previous revised guidance, despite tough market conditions.

The company said it continued to see long-term drivers of growth across its main markets.

In infrastructure, power transmission “continues to see growth and strong demand in both the UK and Europe”, while rail activity is subdued but “with good visibility on future project pipelines.”

Vp said it was confident of improved revenues from water projects in the 2027 financial year.

Subdued housebuilding

Within construction, specialist markets remained “supportive”, particularly in London and the Republic of Ireland, although housebuilding was subdued.

Vp said the Middle east conflict had a limited impact, except for higher fuel costs, which had been “largely mitigated through customer pricing.”

Alice Woodwark, chief executive of Vp, said; “Vp has continued to deliver a disciplined performance and good strategic progress.

“Our focus on infrastructure-led markets, operational efficiency and digital delivery positions us well to navigate the near-term environment and build long term sustainable value for stakeholders.”
