VP plc reports increasing momentum
12 October 2026
UK rental company VP plc said it was on track to meet market expectations for its full year to 31 March 2027, with the second half of the year expected to outperform the same period in its 2026 financial year.
The company runs a number of specialist rental businesses including tool hire, rail equipment, low-height access, telehandlers and air compressors.
In its trading statement for the six months to the end of September, VP said the electricity transmission sector was performing well and the railway market remained stable. It reported “encouraging momentum” in the water industry through the UK’s AMP8 investment programme.

VP said the performance of its Brandon Hire Station division had improved following the restructuring last year, which saw the branch network reduced from approximately 120 branches to around 40.
Alice Woodwark, chief executive of Vp, said the first half had demonstrated the “strength and resilience of our diverse business model.
“Momentum in our UK segment increases our second half confidence, where we remain well positioned to take advantage of supportive infrastructure markets, specifically in water and electricity transmission.”
The full results for the six months to 30 September 2026 will be published on 25 November.
