Volvo CE unveils new machines and US investment at ConExpo

On the company’s stand are more than 20 machines, including 14 new or first-look models across electric and conventional power, alongside live demos and hands-on operating experiences.

Melker Jernberg, President Volvo CE, said, “We are not just showing what the future could look like; we brought machines and services that are ready to deliver today.”

The OEM says that, since ConExpo 2023, Volvo CE has updated more than 35% of its machines, guided by a multi-technology approach that includes battery-electric, internal combustion engine and grid-connected solutions. The biggest updates are across excavators, wheeled loaders and articulated haulers, which together represent around 70% of the global construction equipment market.

At ConExpo Volco CE showed a first look at the new EC560 crawler excavator, which expands Volvo CE’s offering in the size class and updates to the wheeled loader lineup, from a new engine for the high-capacity L350 to enhanced mid-size models including the L120 Electric. 

At the show, the Volvo Group reinforced its long-term commitment to North America through US$1.2 billion in strategic investments designed to strengthen manufacturing capabilities, regionalise supply chains and support the next generation of sustainable technologies.

The company says that a centerpiece of this strategy is a $40 million investment in the Shippensburg, Pa., facility, which brings production of excavators and four large wheeled loader models to the US in early 2026.
