Volvo CE launches online buying tool

Volvo Construction Equipment has announced the release of an online tool that will allow customers to build and price electric compact excavators and wheel loaders.

The tool will initially be available in North America and Norway as part of a pilot project and is said to allow users to configure any of the electric compact machines in Volvo’s portfolio with the desired features and see the suggested retail price.

The company says that the configurator tool will walk users through packages, canopy or cab, attachments, and chargers before giving the user a price estimate (MSRP). The information is then sent to a Volvo CE dealer in the area that will respond within 48 hours, providing a more detailed price list and offering further support.

“Construction equipment customers do a lot of research online already, and our configurator tool puts even more information at their fingertips,” said Jefferson Yin, director of new business models and commercial intelligence at Volvo CE.

“We’re especially happy we can give them a price estimate because that’s something other brands aren’t doing. Customers will continue to be supported by their local Volvo CE dealer during the sales process and with ongoing support after their purchase.”
