Versatile Lasers From Trimble
20 March 2008
Two “cost-effective” grade lasers are among the latest new products from Trimble's construction division. The single grade Spectra Precision GL412 and dual grade Spectra Precision GL422 lasers (above) are described as “rugged, cost-effective and can perform three types of jobs for the construction contractors-level, grade and provide vertical alignment with plumb.”
Leveling is automatic and both lasers can accommodate a grade range of -10% to +15%. Trimble says they can withstand a drop of up to 1 m directly onto concrete.
The lasers both come equipped with full-function, 100 m range remote controls and a backlit grade display. Trimble says, “The ability to make grade changes from anywhere on the job greatly reduces setup time and speeds operation, especially when multiple job grade breaks are needed.”
Trimble has several other new portable laser tools to add to its Spectra Precision range; the Laser LG20 Crossbeam Generator, the HR250 Laser Receiver and Laser HD50 Handheld Distance Meter (below). The self-leveling LG20 is a one-person tool designed for interior and exterior applications; the HR250 is a “economical laser for long-range interior and exterior applications up to 75 m” and the HD50 is a one-person distance tool “to measure remote and difficult-to-reach places” and accurate to +/-1,5 mm at 50m.
