US infrastructure rental business created by Kinderhook Industries

Private equity firm Kinderhook Industries has created Rentix Solutions, an infrastructure-focused specialty rental platform, through the merger of JDC (formerly Jack Doheny Companies) and Vacuum Truck Rentals (VTR).

The combined company will serve customers across sewer maintenance and inspection, electric transmission and distribution, underground utility installation, industrial plant maintenance, hydrovac excavation, and environmental services.

JDC rents sewer and vacuum trucks, hydro excavators, aerial boom trucks, air handlers, and inspection equipment, while VTR is a specialist in commercial vacuum trucks.

The combined business will have 36 locations in the US and a fleet of more than 3,200 items.

It will be led by CEO Payton Lockey and COO B.T. Steadman, who co-founded VTR in 2000.

Kinderhood invests in multiple businesses, including REIC Rentals, which it acquired in 2022.
