UK manufacturer Timberwolf has added a new, lightweight shredder, the SX200, to its catalogue of chippers and shredders.

The small shredder, which can be operated by a single user, is expected to prove popular with the rental market, local authorities, contractors, estates, tree surgeons and landscapers.

The SX200 Shredder is lightweight (750 kg) and manoeuvrable, with a dedicated integral chassis design. It operates with a 20 hp Honda petrol engine and has been designed to operate as quietly as possible, with forged, sharp profile hammers with Teflon bushes. A feed and grab design conveyor is optional.

The letterbox style feed mouth can shred green materials, hedge trimmings, conifer, shrubs, brash and also nursery waste.

Timberwolf's Jeff Haines, who was instrumental in developing the machine, said; "The SX200 is easy to use and more tolerant of dirt/foreign material than a chipper, which means it can be utilised for more jobs with varying levels of operator skills.

"It also has a much quieter than some of the bigger machines, which means it is suitable to use in urban areas where noise pollution is often a pressing concern for businesses."

The SX200 will be demonstrated at the Saltex show, taking place on 4-6 September at the Windsor Racecourse, UK.
