By Steve Ducker24 March 2021
Demolition & Recycling International is delighted to announce the latest speaker for the World Demolition Summit (WDS), which takes place in Chicago, USA, on 20 and 21 October.
Joining the conference programme for the 13th annual industry gathering will be Tim Barker, programme manager of decommissioning, deactivation, decontamination and demolition (D4) services at the USA-based AECOM group.

Tim will present on major projects in Australia and New Zealand where he has advised on safety.
He takes the number of confirmed speakers to four, following the earlier announcements of project presentations by Joe Brinkmann, managing director of South African contractor Jet Demolition, his counterpart at Safedem in Scotland, William Sinclair, Patrick Grandchamp from the European Demolition Association’s working group on hazardous products, and the Italian telematics specialist Topcon-Tierra’s Mohamed Abd El Salam.
Tim’s leadership skills and experience have allowed him to work with clients and contractors on some of the largest non-nuclear decommissioning and most challenging demolition projects in the world.
A former member of the US National Demolition Association’s board of directors, Tim was also an industry leader in the development of the first demolition specific 40-hour certificate course.
The WDS is organised by Demolition & Recycling International in co-operation with the US National Demolition Association and the European Demolition Association. Headline sponsor is Volvo Construction Equipment.
