TER trials plant Mi register in Europe

UK-based National Plant and Equipment Register (TER) – which holds records of over 500000 items of construction equipment in the UK - is conducting trials of its theft-prevention services in The Netherlands and Germany.

TER is establishing offices in Amsterdam and Cologne based at current locations run by the Art Loss Register - a sister company to TER within the Loss Management Group (LMG) - and is talking to insurers in both countries about for theft prevention.

TER's UK equipment holds information on over 500000 items of equipment valued at £2,6 billion (3,8 billion) and is used by the lice authorities and others to identify missing or stolen items of equipment on behalf of owners and insurers.

Tim Purbrick of TER said sharing resources with the Art Loss Register would be a big benefit because it “already has very close contacts with insurers and law enforcement bodies in Europe…A the next step, aiming to meet u with equipment ownin representatives. We be analysing equipme theft in each country a where warranted, provide combat it.
