Sumitomo launches its excavators into Europe

This will be the first time that Sumitomo Construction Machinery excavators will be available in Europe.

According to a press release, the OEM said that it, “represents a key step in the broader international growth strategy of Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd., one of Japan’s leading global providers of industrial machinery and engineering solutions.”

Excavators will be introduced from the company’s latest ‘Dash-7’ range will be introduced, offering models from the compact SH80BS-7 to the large SH520LHD-7, all equipped with Stage V-compliant engines and SCM’s proprietary Sumitomo Intelligent Hydraulic System.

Sumitomo Construction Machinery added that it would establish a dedicated sales and service distributor network in the UK.

“Our construction machines are designed with a simple philosophy – to deliver dependable performance, lower environmental impact, and long-term value for customers,” said Kiichiro Sahara, general manager of Sumitomo Construction Machinery.

“Entering the UK is an exciting milestone for Sumitomo Construction Machinery. We look forward to working with experienced distributors who share our values of quality, service, and innovation.”

Sumitomo Heavy Industries Group is already established in Europe with a base in Amstelveen, the Netherlands. It employs more than 4,500 people in Europe and more than 22,000 globally.
