Speedy invests in low emissions tower lights

06 April 2021

UK Rental company Speedy is launching a new line of high-performance battery powered lighting towers, designed to reduce on-site emissions and offer significant savings in fuel costs.

MX Fuel Tower Lights, manufactured by Milwaukee, provide brightness of up to 27,000 lumens at a max height of 3.1 metres.

The company has invested in 300 MX Fuel Tower Lights, manufactured by Milwaukee, following successful trials with national customers including Balfour Beatty.

According to Speedy, end-users with heavy lighting requirements will save €43,400 annually* on fuel and repair costs and up to 62 tonnes of CO2e*, for every 20 standard diesel model they replace with the battery-powered tower lights.

The portable towers are suitable for indoor and outdoor use and provide a brightness of up to 27,000 lumens at a max height of 3.1 metres.

They can also be operated through the Milwaukee ONE-KEY mobile app, helping operators to easily adjust brightness while monitoring battery charge levels.

The towers are available with nationwide 4-hour delivery and collection from Speedy’s 200 centres UK wide.

Andy Connor, supply chain director at Speedy, said;“The new MX Fuel range really is a game changer for the industry, introducing high-performance cordless equipment that will help our contractors make significant strides towards delivering zero emission sites.

“As a key intermediary in the sector, we recognise the significant role we play in creating a greener supply chain, and this investment forms part of our ambitious sustainability strategy to ensure ECO products account for 70% of our itemised equipment fleet by 2026.”

The new MX Fuel range will add to Speedy’s range of  ‘Energise’ ECO products designed to minimise the industry’s environmental impact in the communities it operates in.

Speedy is also planning to invest further in Milwaukee’s wider MX Fuel range of battery powered industrial tools and hardware, which includes cut-off saws, demolition hammers and diamond core drills. The equipment helps reduce emission and also enhances safety through quieter operation and lower vibration levels, compared to standard diesel-powered models.
