Spanish rental firm expands its truck mount offering

Spanish access equipment company Transgruma has expanded its rental fleet, making a four-unit investment in two models from Italy-based manufacturer Multitel Pagliero.

A leading provider of aerial platforms and material handlers in the city of Madrid, Transgruma operates a fleet of over 100 machines and serves customers in the industrial, construction, energy and petrochemical sectors.

It’s recent deal with Multitel, which was agreed during a demonstration day at the premises of the manufacturer’s local distributor Transgruas, saw the company order three of Multitel’s articulated HX200 EX platform models.

Mounted on a 3.5-tonne truck, the HX200 EX has a maximum working height of 19.9m, an outreach of 9.6m and a basket load capacity of 225kg.

Described as “easy to use”, the truck mount model can used for construction, maintenance and installation applications. It is the first model weighing 3.5 tonnes that Transgruma has added to fleet, which had previously only offered bigger units for rental with a driver.

Transgruma chose the HX200 EX for its “robust” aluminium structure, safety features and for its precise movement capabilities. 

The family-run company also invested in one of Multitel’s MZ 250 articulated platforms, which offers a maximum working height of 25.1m and an outreach of 14.35m. The unit is fitted with a 250kg capacity basket and also offers automatic stabilisation, as well as a below ground reach of 2.5m.

The unit is mounted on a 3.5-tonne Iveco truck, which offers compact chassis with a 3-metre wheelbase.

“The articulated jib and the possibility of working below ground to -2.5 m make it a versatile and high-performance machine,” said Multitel, adding that the machine EVE electronic systems ensures the platform’s movements are carried out with the correct speed, linearity and smoothness. 

Multitel said the deal with Transgruma has opened up its relationship with both the rental company and equipment dealer Transgruas, and that it would allow for a deeper collaboration in the future.
