HKL has opened a sixth aerial platform and telescopic centre (ATC) in Hamburg.

It adds to the existing ATC locations in Dortmund, Hamburg, Leipzig, Nuremberg and Frankfurt/Main West, as well as six HKL power product centres across Germany.

The rental company is also introducing IPAF training for operators at its centres and said it will open further ATC’s throughout Germany to provide nearby support for construction projects.

The new centre opened a few weeks ago, offers more than 100 different machines with working heights between 6m and 27m, and the range will be gradually expanded. For example, the hybrid platform Genie Z-60/37 was recently added to the fleet. It combines the advantages of efficient diesel engines with those of low-emission electric motors.

Jan Böttcher, HKL branch manager Hamburg, said, “Here in Hamburg we already have years of experience with aerial work platforms, but recently we as ATC now offer significantly more machines and also IPAF training courses. We have great, competent employees who can give customers all the know-how for the machines.”

Frank Seidler, HKL managing director, added, “We want to transfer the model of specialised centres to other metropolitan areas in Germany. Our customers everywhere should benefit from our bundled expertise and the corresponding range of work platforms and telehandlers.”
