Sinoboom changes plans for Mexico facility

Sinoboom has chosen a new location in Mexico for its future MEWP production facility, Desmond Soh, CEO of Sinoboom North America, told ALH. The company has picked out a site in Guanajuato, Mexico (it previously had done so in Monterrey, Mexico.)

“After that [original] announcement, we took another deep look into the market and wanted to place that is going to be more sustainable,” Soh said. “Some places are overcrowded, and that could make it difficult for running smooth operations.”

Sinoboom still plans to begin construction on the facility by mid-year 2024, with all booms and scissors for the North American market being produced in Mexico. Its facility in Poland, which currently manufactures products shipped into North America, as does the company’s facility in China, will then transition to serve European clients.

“We remain a hundred percent committed to North America, and we know that the onshore manufacturing is the only way to serve our clients better,” Soh said.

Sinoboom used The Rental Show 2024 to showcase a range of its new products geared toward rental customers across the United States and Canada. For a full report on the new booms and scissors, as well as our exclusive interview with Soh, see the March/April issue of ALH
