Safety award for AFI-Uplift

12 April 2013

AFI-Uplift has received a Bronze award in the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2013.

The award will be presented to the UK-based rental company during the awards ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the UK’s National Exhibition Centre on 15 May.

The RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Occupational Health and Safety Awards scheme is the largest and longest-running programme of its kind in the UK, explained AFI. It recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention and is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas.

The scheme does not just look at accident records, but also entrants’ overall health and safety management systems, including important practices, such as strong leadership and workforce involvement.

David Rawlins, RoSPA awards manager, said: “RoSPA firmly believes that organisations that demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention deserve recognition. AFI has shown that it is committed to striving for such continuous improvement and we are delighted to honour it through the presentation of an award.”

Nick Higgins, AFI Group support services director, said: “We are delighted to have gained Bronze in these prestigious awards. It’s a great achievement and highlights our continuing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health & safety at all levels of the company.”
