RFQ for biggest contract on $7bn NY Subway launched

New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for the largest construction contract on its US$6.97 billion Second Avenue Subway Phase 2 project.

The fourth and final package covers station infrastructure, tracks, signalling and systems fit-out. MTA plans to invite proposals from qualified contractors by the end of 2026, with contractor selection expected in mid-2027 and work starting that year.
