Record360, the equipment inspection software owned by Point of Rental, has added AI tools to its software, including AI damage detection.

Built into the Record360 app, 360AI is an AI assistant for vehicle and equipment inspections. It will highlight potential damage and flag items for review, with human judgment retained through a ‘human-in-the-loop’ approach.

Damage detection is just one of the new AI-based tools. Others include smart review dashboard, where managers can review images and AI-highlighted areas side-by-side; voice inspect, which automatically populates spoken notes into inspection fields; smart scan, which reads machine plates, VINs and barcodes; and blur detection, to flag unclear photos.

360AI runs directly on mobile devices and is designed to support inspections in branches, yards, job sites and customer locations.

The technology will be offered in three subscription tiers: ‘basic’ includes core inspections and smart scan; ‘standard’ adds mobile damage detection and blur detection, and the ‘professional’ level gives access to all AI features.

Record360 said the AI model processed nearly 3 million photos during beta testing and successfully identified more than 50,000 confirmed cases of damage.

Point of Rental acquired Record360 in early 2024.
