Ramirent expands events business

Finnish rental company Ramirent - a part of the Loxam rental business - has purchased Finnish electrical and reserve power equipment business and events rental supplier Festivaalisähkö Oy, including staff and fleet.

Ramirent 2 Ramirent Finland is expanding its events business.

The terms of the acquisition, signed in early January, have not been disclosed.

Festivaalis sähkö Oy services festivals, concerts and events with products and services including temporary backup power for industrial and maintenance needs; fuel tanks, cable trays, electrical switchboards and cables.

Ramirent Sales and Marketing Director Arto Palsio said the purchase would widen the business opportunities for Ramirent’s events division, which provides equipment and services for events across Finland, including large music festivals and sporting events.

“We want to increase our event related business, and investing in event electrifying and reserve power functions supports this target,” he said.

Jouko Riihimaa, owner and Managing Director of Festivaalisähkö Riihimaa, has been appointed a project manager in Ramirent’s events business unit.

He said he welcomed the move to become part of a larger entity.

“Now we are able to provide electricity to massive events even more smoothly. Smaller gigs work out as before, if not better, and thanks to Ramirent’s network, we are able to reach new customers all over Finland.”

Ramirent is a national full service rental business in Finland, whose offering includes heavy machinery, lifts, light equipment, modules and containers, power and heating and safety equipment.
