The UK's Progress Group has integrated its power rental division with Newburn Power Rental, which it acquired in January this year.

The merged operation will operate under the Newburn Power Rental brand and will be headquartered in Morley, UK. The addition of Progress Group's hire department will boost Newburn's operation from one to five depots and increase the number of employees from 25 to 47.

The combined business will have double the number of generators in the 15 kVA to 1250 kVA size range and includes heavy duty sets for construction or super silent units for events.

Progress Group said combining its experience in the construction industry with Newburn's events sector expertise "will create an elite team of engineers.

Mark Henstock, Progress group managing Director, said; "Ultimately this strategic decision will allow Newburn Power Rental to invest in the future to ensure that our customers always receive the best service in the market for all their temporary power needs."
