UK-based pump distributor Obart Pumps has officially changed its name to Tsurumi Pumps UK.

Based in Maidstone, England, Obart Pumps had been a distributor for the company since 1975 before it was acquired by Tsurumi Europe at the beginning of 2020.

The company says no changes to contact details, ordering process or existing product range will be made under its new name, with only the company’s web address (tsurumi.co.uk) changing.

Matthew Hill, managing director of Tsurumi Pumps UK said the change is a natural step for the company; “Tsurumi - pronounced Sir-roo-me - is becoming much more visible in the UK and is often associated with quality and reliability.

“This transition will lead to a positive impact for our customers, allowing us to build on our position as a market leading supplier of submersible and engine driven pumps, nevertheless, it is very much business as usual.

“All staff and management will remain in place supported by myself as managing director, and we will continue to operate from our existing head office and warehouse in Maidstone, Kent.

“All our existing products and brands will remain unchanged. We will continue to offer Tsurumi, Speroni, APP, Honda, Faes and Umbra products alongside our own trusted Fit&Flow, DryMax and Floodmate product ranges.”

Founded in Osaka, Japan in 1924, Tsurumi manufactures more than 1 million pumps annually and employs over 1,100 employees.
