Nixon Hire agrees exclusive deal on BESS units
02 October 2026
UK rental company Nixon Hire has invested over £1 million in large battery storage units from Infinity Cube Europe. It is part of an agreement that makes Nixon the exclusive UK rental industry user for 18 months, with scope for an extension.
This initial order is for 14 units. Six have already been deployed on customer sites, with eight more due later in October. A further four units are expected by the end of the year.
The BESS units comprise Infinity Cube’s S Pro, M Pro and L Pro sets, offering 200kW, 300kW and 550kW of energy storage, respectively.

The power containers can be linked to create larger battery systems, and each can coordinate the operation of up to three generators, rotating their use.
Infinity Cube is based in Singapore and established its European operation earlier this year. Nixon is its first partner in the region’s rental industry.
For larger projects
Brian Cornett, CEO of Nixon Hire, said the investment builds on the company’s experience with renewable power, extending its battery offer “to larger projects and allowing us to supply higher-capacity power alongside the modular buildings and site accommodation those projects need.
“We are proud to be Infinity Cube Europe’s exclusive UK hire partner. The early trials have shown the difference these units can make, and as the fleet expands, we look forward to more customers seeing those benefits on their own sites.”
Chris Autey, managing director at Infinity Cube Europe, said he was delighted with the partnership; “[Nixon’s] extensive customer reach, strong relationships and established service infrastructure provide a powerful route to market, ensuring customers can access reliable, high-performance energy storage solutions exactly when they need them.
“For customers, the value is clear: proven battery technology delivered through a hire partner they already know and trust.”
He said the aim was to “accelerate the adoption of cleaner, more efficient power solutions across a wider range of industries.”
Early trial results
Nixon Hire, which is based in Newcastle, UK, said early trials included an L Pro supplying power to Nixon equipment including 106 modular office bays, four welfare cabins and washing blocks. Another site saw an M Pro handle the power demand of a tower crane.
It said one customer reported saving, in less than a month, more than 13,000 litres of fuel, £20,900 in fuel costs and 33.8 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
