New JCB Loadall is housebuilder’s choice

19 August 2015

The new 516-40 Loadall – the most compact telehandler in the JCB range – is proving a hit with a UK housebuilder.

Johnson & Johnson, based in the English midlands, has taken delivery of one of the first of the newly introduced compact telehandlers since the model went into production and has used it on a series of luxury housebuilding sites.

Just 1.56 m wide and 1.8 m high, the JCB 516-40 is powered by a 2.2-litre JCB Diesel by Kohler engine, producing 49 hp (36.6 kW) of power. With permanent all-wheel drive and four-wheel steering, the 516-40 offers a turning radius of just 2.8 m. A lift capacity of 1.6 t and a maximum lift height of 4 m, makes for a powerful performer on house building and general construction sites.

Johnson & Johnson director, Martin Johnson said: “We bought our first JCB telescopic handler 15 years ago and have used them ever since. This nippy new model is absolutely fabulous. Performance is very good all round and its ability to get palletised building materials into the most confined areas on site makes a massive difference for us.

“It joins our fleet of JCB Loadalls and excavators which are all very well looked after by our dealer Gunn JCB, which provides an excellent and responsive service.”

Based in Stratford-upon-Avon, Johnson and Johnson is an independent, multi award-winning housebuilding company operating across Warwickshire and the Cotswolds. Established 40 years ago, it has privately purchased, developed and sold hundreds of family homes.
