New CEO for Zeppelin Rental

Former Bomag executive Björn Sack has taken over as head of the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) of the Zeppelin Group and as CEO of Zeppelin Rental.

Effective from 1 September, the appointment also sees Peter Schrader, who held both positions on an interim basis since February, return to his role as COO of Zeppelin Rental.

Sack most recently served as CEO of the soil and waste compaction business unit at Bomag, group chief digital officer in the Fayat road equipment division and head of global supply chain at Mercedes-Benz Vans.

The SBU rental comprises Zeppelin’s activities in machinery and equipment rental, temporary infrastructure and construction logistics in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands.

“With Björn Sack, we have gained an internationally experienced manager with extensive expertise in the automotive and construction equipment industries,” said Matthias Benz, chairman of the management board of the Zeppelin Group and chairman of the Supervisory Board of Zeppelin Rental GmbH.

“With his clear focus on transformation, digitalization and operational excellence, he is ideally positioned to further develop the rental business across Europe.”
