40 new Compact 14 machines have supplemented Nationwide Platforms’ existing selection of the platforms.

UK powered access rental firm Nationwide Platforms has expanded its fleet by more than 100 new units in the past two months as part of its 2012 investment programme.

The new intake of equipment has included a new model of scissor lift. Nationwide Platforms has purchased 41 new Haulotte Star 10 boom lifts.

"The latest wave of equipment to enter the business mainly represents a selection of core models that are greatly in demand from our customers. As a business we know that many of the benefits of our investment will therefore be passed on to a very broad customer base working across many industry sectors,” said Richard Miller, executive director – sales, Nationwide Platforms.

Other fleet additions include 40 new Compact 14 scissor lifts, which have a working height of up to 14 m. The company previously bought a procurement of these models for internal work within Heron Tower in the City of London.

Nationwide Platforms has also invested in 39 new Z-30N/22 Genie boom lifts. The rental firm has also received its first HAB S280-25 models into the fleet. The new HAB has a safe working load of 750 kg and a working height of up to 28 m.

Nationwide Platforms will also take deliver of a further 33 Z-60/34 Genie articulating boom lifts by the end of the year. This will take the total to more than 1500 new platforms received in 2012.
