Mustang Manufacturing Co in the US has upgraded three of its tracked loaders. The MTL316, MTL320 and MTL325 - which replace the MTL16, MTL20 and MTL25 models - meet Tier III engine requirements and are faster and more powerful than their predecessors.

Power output has been increased and now ranges from 66 to 92 hp (49 - 69 Kw) and ground speeds are now up to 7.5 mph (12 kph), in high-speed mode.

Mustang, which sells the skid steers in North America and 39 countries worldwide, said increased productivity had been a key driver for the design improvements; "An improved control handle design with additional switches puts more controls at the operator's finger tips. Activation of the ‘float' function is made easier with an improved push-button."

Another change is the use of standard proportional auxiliary hydraulics, controlled by a thumb switch, which replace the former foot-pedal control design. The MTL320 and MTL325 are available with a high-flow option.

Mustang's range of tracked loaders now comprises four models. The company announced the launch of the MTL312 in March this year.
