Rental software developer MCS in the UK will incorporate the asset monitoring capability of Enigma Vehicle Systems's service, Skyline, into its MCS-rm product.

Skyline, launched in 2003, is a web-based, real-time, GPS system for tracking equipment location and status. UK-based Enigma said Skyline offers theft prevention capabilities, including remote immobilisation and driver identification. MCS-rm is MCS's leading product for rental companies.

After integration of the products, MCS-rm users will be able to access information from Skyline about location, working status, current meter/mileage readings. Rental company customers will be able to access the same information using the MCS extranet.

Mark Nolan, development director for MCS, said, "We believe this partnership will give our customers the edge - by adding detailed utilisation to the sophisticated searching and reporting Skyline already offers, we believe we have a very interesting product."

Chief executive of Enigma Vehicle Systems Ian Keam-George, said, "We are delighted to have formed a partnership with MCS, an internationally recognised supplier of rental software for the hire industry. We...believe that Skyline will provide an excellent added value feature in the rental software systems run by MCS customers..."
