New Manitou range topper and North America focus

Manitou Group is presenting a range of launches at ConExpo with anemphasis on electrification, the expansion of compact loaders for the North American market and a new range-topping rotating telehandler at the show.

Five new large-frame skid steer and track loader models are now available for the North American market, with first deliveries scheduled during March. They feature rated capacities ranging from 3,250 lbs to 3,600 lbs.

Manufactured in Madison, South Dakota, the machines represent a comprehensive redesign with advanced functionality and modern design.

The lineup includes three skid steer loaders available under the Gehl and Manitou brands, and two track loaders also available under both brands. Each model boasts high load capacities, a bucket breakout force of up to 47.3 lbf, and a hinge pin height of up to 11 ft.

The loaders utilize vertical lift linkage, specifically engineered for truck loading and stable material handling. Hydraulic performance is a key differentiator, featuring load-sensing systems that optimize fuel consumption and power delivery, alongside comprehensive auxiliary flow - standard flow up to 25 gpm and high flow up to 40 gpm.

The product developments are driven by the new LIFT 2030 roadmap, which centres on evolving customer requirements and aims for electric machines to represent 28% of total sales by 2030.

Designed exclusively for North American requirements, the MTA 519 e operates on a 33kWh lithium-ion battery that can be partially charged. This configuration reduces maintenance costs by 56%, lowering the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) compared to internal combustion equivalents, says the company.

With a lifting height of 19 ft 1 in and a capacity of 5,500 lbs, it is ideal for indoor applications, urban centres, and emission or noise reduction sites, with an autonomy up to five hours of continuous operation.

It features the Harmony dashboard for secure, simplified operation. This model featurs a new cab, a specialized joystick, and a universal skid steer connection for attachments frequently used in the USA. First deliveries are expected toward the end of Q2 2026.

Manufactured in France, the MTA 519 is now transported to the USA via the Neoliner, the world’s largest sailing cargo ship, operating between Nantes, France, and the Port of Baltimore, Maryland. By utilizing wind energy, the Neoliner reduces carbon emissions by up to 80% compared to conventional vessels, supporting Manitou Group’s SBTi-validated low-carbon trajectory

Range topper

The group also unveiled its latest rotating telehandler, the Manitou MRT 4070 the show. As the flagship of the Vision+ range, it offers the highest lift height in the rotating lineup, reaching 131ft with a maximum lift capacity of 15,400 lbs. Its performance is further highlighted by a significant horizontal outreach of up to 88ft.

Powered by a 211 hp engine, the model features a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) for seamless power delivery. The MRT 4070 is engineered for a wide range of applications, including industrial construction, maintenance and renovation, masonry, roofing, and both wood and steel framing.

Manitou is also showing three new attachments at ConExpo to address the diverse needs of compact loader and telehandlers users.

The new 75inch 2-Speed Brush Mulcher stands as the most powerful in the range. Engineered for intensive use, this attachment features a two-speed variable displacement hydraulic motor, optimizing rotor torque and speed across a flow range of 20 to 75 gpm.

This power enables the cutting of trunks with diameters up to 18 inches. Ergonomics are equally prioritized with a tilted frame and a push bar equipped with directional hooks, operators can take down and mulch standing trees with extreme precision, while monitoring performance in real-time via an integrated pressure gauge.

To maximize the versatility of high-reach MRT rotating telehandlers, Manitou has also introduced the new JW 2100/3000, 6,614 lbs capacity jib winch. Specifically designed for the transport and installation of roof trusses and beams, this attachment features a hook speed of up to 131 ft/min that applies to the raising and lifting direction, ensuring increased jobsite productivity.

Its innovative tubular structure provides an optimal weight-to-rigidity ratio while extending the machine’s forward reach. With a long-reach cable allowing for negative lift operations and a compact design (1,355 lbs and a length of 7 ft), it will hit the market in Q4 2026.

In addition, the PR GSA 750 grapple pruning saw was at the show, designed to enhance safety and efficiency on forestry sites, it offers a cutting capacity of up to 30 inches in diameter. Featuring a 360° rotation system and a robust grapple, the tool ensures precise handling and a firm grip on logs. Its design includes a self-lubricating chain and integrated suspension.
