Manitou and Terex are extending their aerial platform manufacturing cooperation with Terex now to supply three electric slab scissors for sale by Manitou.

The Terex GS-1930, GS-2632 and GS-3232 electric scissors - with working heights of 7.79, 9.92 and 11.75 m respectively - made at Terex's Coventry, UK facility will be supplied to Manitou and sold as the 78 SEC, 100 SEC and 120 SE models.

Manitou will cease making its own XE/XEL electric slab scissors, except in China where they will still be made under the HMME joint venture between Manitou and Hangcha.

The new agreement follows the deal announced at Bauma last year by Manitou and Terex for the two to cooperate on selling certain products. Under that agreement Manitou is selling two Terex rough terrain models and Terex is selling two of Manitou's self-propelled vertical mast models.

"Nine months after it started, this cross selling agreement has proven to be beneficial for both companies", said Maxime Deroch, Manitou's marketing manager. He said that "Like the 100 SC and the 120 SC [RT scissors], Manitou will primarily market these models to end-users through its dealer networks, and assume responsibility for aftermarket support".
