Malaysia’s Ban Ngai orders 2,500 Noblelift scissors

Malaysia-based rental major Ban Ngai has signed a deal with Noblelift to supply 2,500 scissor lifts.

One of Southeast Asia’s leading equipment rental companies, Ban Ngai operates a fleet of more than 3,300 aerial platforms and more than 400 forklifts and reach trucks across the region.

With existing orders, the fleet is expected to grow to over 5,000 aerials by the end of the first quarter of 2027. This, said the company, will place it among the top three rental providers in the key Southeast Asian markets of Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. The company now plans to enter Vietnam and Singapore in the short to medium term.

The partnership between Ban Ngai and Noblelift began more than 20 years ago with hand pallet trucks and has since expanded to include Noblelift’s full range of material handling equipment and aerial lifts.

This year’s order, signed in January at the Noblelift headquarters in Changxing, Zhejiang, is estimated at US$25 million, and consists mainly of scissor lifts, forklifts and reach trucks. It includes major equipment improvements such as full electrophoresis coatings for the entire scissor range, high-capacity lithium-ion batteries, and improved structure and components to create a more rigid and functional machine, said the company.

The entire Ban Ngai fleet of Noblelift scissor lifts will be equipped with Noblelift’s proprietary telematics system, enabling location mapping, geofencing, remote locking and troubleshooting, integrated with Ban Ngai’s MCS ERP system.

Aim to be largest in Southeast Asia 

Noblelift added that the partnership lays a solid foundation for Ban Ngai’s global expansion strategy, which includes an existing Noblelift sole distributorship in Nigeria, and planned new operations in Ghana and Bissau soon.

Ban Ngai aims to grow its regional fleet to more than 8,500 units by 2030, with the ambition of becoming Southeast Asia’s largest rental provider.
