Premium Content

Magni Telescopic Handlers will debut a brand new, mining-specific telehandler at MineExpo 2021. The new TH U 5.8 is a fixed telescopic handler with features tailor-made for mining environments, Magni said.

Magni’s TH 5.8

Powered by a Deutz engine, the new TH U 5.8 can lift to a height of 26 feet and has a lifting capacity of up to 11,000 pounds. The unit’s frame measure 17 feet by 8 feet, making the unit compact and easy to navigate in tight spots.

The new telehandler comes standard with a special hydrostatic transmission and features a special braking system designed specifically for use in mines that complies with various safety regulations. A special 50 PPM catalytic converter filters exhausts from the machines, making it safer to work with in enclosed spaces.

Standard safety features on the fully air filtered and pressurized Magni cab include FOPS and ROPS protection, with the new mining unit containing an extra safety cage protecting the cab from falling objects.

Additionally, each Magni TH U 5.8 comes equipped with an LMI load limiting system, that prevents operators from lifting unsafe loads. This unique mining specific telehandler has emergency stop buttons both inside, and outside of the cab for safety purposes.

The TH U 5.8 is compatible with a wide range of attachments including work platforms, jibs, winches, and forks. It is equipped with an RFID system which allows for automatic recognition of attachments and the creation of the digital load charts specific to them.

Magni also recently announced that Pinnacle Cranes has become an authorized dealer for Magni units throughout the Carolinas.

Jim Mackinson, President of Pinnacle Cranes, said, “Pinnacle is pleased to join the Magni family of North American dealers. The Magni rotating and heavy lift telehandlers are a great complement to our current product lines. They are a versatile tool that will be a great asset on projects in North Carolina and South Carolina. This addition allows Pinnacle Cranes to continue to be the #1 lifting equipment source in the Carolinas.”
