Kubota expands U.S. CE manufacturing

Kubota North America announced the expansion of its construction equipment manufacturing presence at its Great Plains Manufacturing subsidiary in Salina, Kansas, USA. A ceremony at the facility, attended by company officials and local and state representatives, marked the occasion.

Kubota announced it will assemble its SVL75-3 compact track loader on the same line as the SVL65-2 through a mixed model manufacturing approach that it said reinforces its strategy to expand operations closer to customers and dealers, strengthen its U.S. and Canadian supply chain and build more products in North America with globally sourced parts.

“Our expansion here in the Midwest is about better serving our dealers and customers across the country,” said Todd Stucke, president, Kubota North America. “By increasing output of America’s #1 selling compact track loader from our Kansas operations, we’re strengthening our ability to meet customer demand faster and more efficiently.”

“This newly expanded production line at Great Plains in Salina represents the best of Kubota manufacturing processes, utilizing skilled craftsmanship, operational excellence and precision engineering,” added Brian Arnold, general manager of North America Manufacturing Unit. “Our Kansas-based team takes pride in providing equipment that’s trusted by our customers across the country, and this expansion allows us to advance our capabilities and deliver the quality and consistency our customers expect.”

The company said its recent expansion projects are strategically synergistic as it grows the Salina-based footprint into a construction equipment hub. In recent years, Kubota has announced more than $300 million in investments in Salina, including breaking ground at the site earlier this year for a new compact construction equipment test center specifically for North American equipment design and engineering.
