Komatsu introduces the PW75MR-5 wheeled midi excavator

With an operating weight of under 7.5 tonnes and a width of 2 m, the PW75MR-5 features four-wheel steering for a tight turning radius, as well as crab steering for improved manoeuvrability in confined spaces.

“The PW75MR-5 was developed and launched in direct response to [our customers’] need for a compact excavator that delivers heavy-duty performance, agility and efficiency on today’s demanding and congested jobsites, helping them work more sustainably and successfully,” said product manager Alex Visentin.

Komatsu also said that operator comfort has been central in the development of the PW75MR-5’s newly designed cab.

It has a 7-inch HD touchscreen for navigation with support for 26 languages, new slow-speed control for smooth manoeuvring and precise machine positioning, cruise control, and DAB+ radio with Bluetooth connectivity. As an option, it can be configured with a “premium comfort” seat.

The PW75MR-5 includes an axle oscillation lock for machine set-up and differential locks for greater traction on muddy or challenging ground.

An independent travel-system pump is aimed at maintaining smooth, high-precision attachment control, while the optional Tool Control function, integrated into both auxiliary hydraulic lines, can manage multiple attachments. The machine also comes prepared for tiltrotator integration.
