Kohler launches rental partner program
14 March 2022
OEM and engine specialist Kohler has launched a Rental Partner Program comprising after-sales services for businesses in the European market.
The program is designed to support rental companies in reducing the total costs of running and maintaining their fleets.
The Kohler Rental Partner Program will cover all European markets and will be promoted at the main industry trade shows.
The OEM said training courses will be a “cornerstone of the initiative” comprising online and in-person sessions that address maintenance topics for different lines of Kohler engines.
The training will be provided either at Kohler head office in Reggio Emilia, Italy, or through Kohler network support centres in various countries.
It will take the form of a basic course and an advanced course.
The Basic Course offers a general overview of Kohler engines and the main aspects of their maintenance. The Advanced Course is aimed at “more structured companies with expert staff” and focuses on the electronic engines range (KDI). The Advanced Course also includes training on KIRA, Kohler’s tool for diagnostics, independent maintenance and service.
“The goal of the courses is to provide rental companies with the knowledge and tools to directly handle basic maintenance operations on their own, without having to turn to the manufacturer’s support network, thereby reducing machine downtime and intervention time, while optimising the availability of the fleet and, more generally speaking, the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of the fleet.”
Another element of Kohler’s offering is a discount program for rental companies that sign up to the initiative.
They will be able to purchase original spare parts, maintenance kits and replacement engines at favourable prices, directly from dealers and distributors in the Kohler network.
A points based loyalty program also supports rental companies in purchasing maintenance and diagnostics tools as well as Kohler original merchandise.
“The Kohler Rental Partner Program is aimed at rental companies that believe in the importance of careful, high-quality maintenance, as well as a direct relationship with the company that designed and developed the engines they work with every day,” the OEM said.
“In fact, this program lets them have a direct line with the Kohler technical staff so they can get advice, recommendations and clarifications on all aspects of basic maintenance.”
Kohler has demonstrated its commitment to the rental sector via organisations including the European Rental Association (ERA) and, since 2021, Assodimi/Assonolo, the Italian professional rental association.
