Kimberly Access orders 50 booms from JLG and Terex AWP

18 March 2013

Kimberly Group, the UK access rental company, has made a significant order for 15 big Genie booms from Terex AWP and 35 smaller lifts from JLG Industries.

The Genie boom order comprises twelve Z-135s and three ZX-135s, all to be delivered by June. A few weeks before the Terex contract Kimberly ordered 35 booms from JLG, a mix 20 m (60 ft) and 24 m (80 ft) units.

Ray Ledger, chairman of Kimberly, described the order as “very significant [and] reinforces our position as being a major provider of big booms”. He said further investment in big booms was likely in the next few months.

Kimberly, based in Harrogate, the UK, is one of the largest aerial platform rental companies in the UK, with a fleet of more than 2500 platforms.

It has seven depots throughout England and Scotland, and operates in Scotland under the 1st Access Rentals banner and as High Level Platforms in the south west of England.
