Kiloutou has bought five Iveco natural gas trucks for its equipment delivery fleet and said it will add a further 10 vehicles in 2019.

The trucks, which use liquified petroleum gas (LPG) for fuel, have significantly lower particle and CO2 emissions than diesel engines. Kiloutou said the investment was part of its strategy to reduce emissions and operate in an environmentally responsible way.

The natural gas engine is also quieter than the diesel equivalent, said Kiloutou, emitting less than 71 dB, making it suitable for use in cities at night.

The truck has a published range of 1,600 km for an average consumption of 35 litres, with a tank capacity of 1,000 litres.

Kiloutou said it will train 15 drivers to operate the new trucks.
