Using ICUEE as a launchpad, JCB unveiled the 3CX compact backhoe loader, the smallest in the company's lineup.

The 3CX is 35 percent smaller than the company's standard 3CX but retains the speed and power of its bigger sibling, JCB said. The unit is Tier 4 Final and also offers a side-shift backhoe version for U.S. customers. It comes standard with LiveLink telematics, which is JCB's tracking and monitoring system.

The 3CX is 6-feet, 3-inches wide and 9-feet-tall and has a 25 mph hydrostatic transmission. Pilot controls and hydrualics deliver 19 percent more flow while 4-wheel steering allows for a 19-foot turning radius.

Target markets include gas utilities, municpalities and more.

JCB chief innovation and growth officer Tim Burnhope said, “With the 3CX compact, JCB has condensed over 60 years of backhoe loader expertise and market leadership into a machine that delivers all of the versatility, productivity and ease-of-use of our market-leading 3CX compact, with even more maneuverable dimensions.

“Its small footprint and incredible all around visibility is perfect for working in congested urban areas. It’s easy and intuitive to use, has great mobility and maneuverability and with pilot controls, will suit operators of both backhoes and excavators.

“With the 3CX compact we are delivering a master of all trades, a machine that is suitable for operation in road maintenance, urban construction, utility work, or any task that requires maximum performance in a compact package.”
