The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) is supporting this year’s UK Associations Week.

Established in 2017 by the Institute of Association Leadership (IAL), UK Associations Week offers a chance for all trade and membership organisations to promote and celebrate the work they do across all industries.

Tim Whiteman, CEO and managing director of IPAF, said, “Associations Week is a great opportunity to showcase some of the less visible work we do, to recognise the excellent work of our hard-working staff, councils, committees and members, and to share best practice more widely than we might normally.

“I very much look forward to this week providing a great platform for like-minded associations from other industries to share ideas and celebrate their successes.”

The IAL said it strives to promote excellence in the leadership and management of associations, and to shine a spotlight on the employees and volunteers who make associations work.

According to the IAL, the association sector is often undervalued and rarely recognised as a sector in its own.

Whiteman said, “When it comes to working with government at all levels, developing training and standards and presenting a persuasive case for the use of powered access as a safe way to conduct temporary work at height, IPAF would not be where it is today without the tireless support and assistance of our members. Associations Week is a chance for us to recognise all the work our members do to sustain IPAF as a federation.”

This year’s UK Associations Week runs from 17-21 June 2019.
