IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) will have a live demonstration site in the outside area of the APEX exhibition in Maastricht, Netherlands, in June 2026.

The association – the official supporter of APEX – said it will use its demonstration area to highlight its guidance on rescue and recovery techniques as well as its 2026 safety campaign.

Peter Douglas, CEO and Managing Director of IPAF, said; “APEX is a key event for our industry, and IPAF is proud to be an advocate and long-time supporter. We’re excited to bring live demonstrations to the show for the first time that reflect real-world powered access safety scenarios that our industry faces every day.

“The demonstrations will directly support IPAF’s newly published guidance, The Principles of MEWP Recovery and Rescue, helping to translate those principles into practical, on-the-ground applications that visitors can see in action.”

The International Rental Exhibition (IRE), which highlights compact machines, tools and IT systems targeted at rental companies, will again be held alongside APEX.

The show is supported by the European Rental Association, which will host its annual convention on the second and third days of the show, during which it will celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Stéphane Hénon, president of the ERA, and also president of Loxam, said there were good reasons to join the ERA convention and IRE/APEX shows; “First because we will celebrate the anniversary of the ERA. That’s going to be a great party.

“And having the two exhibitions together with the convention is always a big plus for our members because they can optimise their time and meet their suppliers and at the same time participate in the convention.

“So, next year, it’s the ideal opportunity for them to join us in the ERA celebration and visit the exhibitions.”

Most of the APEX show space is already booked, with exhibitors including Palfinger, JLG, Snorkel, CTE, Skyjack, Genie, Manitou, Haulotte Dingly, LGMG and XCMG.

Confirmed exhibitors for IRE include technology companies Trackunit, MCS, Armada Dynamics and SmartEquip, as well as equipment suppliers Pramac, SDLG, Himoinsa, Trime, Swepac and Brendon.

Visitor information

Visitors who register for either IRE or APEX will have free access to both exhibitions. Free shuttle buses will run to MECC Maastricht from Brussels Zaventem Airport and Düsseldorf Airport from 1 to 4 June, with a travel time of less than 1 hr 15 minutes.

For those flying to Amsterdam Schiphol, the train journey to Maastricht takes between 2.5 and 3 hours, or under 2.5 hours by rental car.

There is also a limited number of connections directly to Maastricht Aachen Airport. Wizz Air flies to Maastricht from Bucharest (Romania) and Katowice (Poland).
