IAPA winners announced in Madrid

The winners of this year’s International Awards for Powered Access (IAPAs) have been revealed in Madrid, with Genie, Haulotte, Nationwide Platforms, Hydro Mobile and France Elevateur among the companies recognised.
Art Moore, the 91 year old founder of Snorkel, was given the Lifetime Achievement Award; rental company of the year winner was Nationwide Platforms in the UK; and France Elevateur won the inaugural IAPA Innovation Technology Prize for its new 172 ATBI insulated boom.
More than 400 professionals attended the annual awards dinner, which took place at the NH Collection hotel in Madrid. The awards were jointly organised by Access International and IPAF.
Around 100 entries across 13 award categories were received for the IAPAs 2016, and the winners were:

Project of the Year
Hydro Mobile, Canada, for the new FAA Control Tower at Tucson Airport, Arizona, USA.
IPAF Training Centre of the Year
Maltech, Switzerland
IPAF Instructor of the Year
José Ramón Etxebarria Urrutia, Spain
Access Photo of the Year (sponsored by Facelift)
Trevor Chapman (submitted by Nationwide Platforms)

The independent judges made their decisions based on the merit of each entry and were excluded from entering their company for any awards.

Next year’s IPAF Summit and IAPA Awards will take place on 4 April in London, at the Hilton Hotel at Wembley Stadium.
