HSS Hire signs multi-million deal with Enterprise

11 October 2011

HSS Hire has won a multi-million pound contract to manage equipment for Enterprise, one of the largest infrastructure maintenance businesses in the UK.

Under the agreement, HSS will supply and manage all the equipment requirements for Enterprise as well as managing the maintenance of its ground care equipment.

Enterprise, which is a £1.2 billion business, will continue to have contractual relationships with existing suppliers - including some rental companies - but HSS will manage all rental operations, order processing and equipment management on its behalf.

As part of the agreement, HSS will employ a number of new hire desk consultants, fitters, engineers and ground care experts, including staff from Enterprise who will transfer to HSS.

Enterprise is itself in the business of providing outsourcing services. It maintains water and power networks for UK utilities and carries out a wide range of services for local government, including waste collection, street cleaning, road maintenance and facilities management.

Enterprise's asset director, John Farrell, said; "We selected HSS to oversee all of our equipment management after an intensive competitive process based on service - we were impressed by their systems, absolute commitment to safety and compliance and by the shared values between our organisations."

HSS Hire's chief executive officer, Chris Davies, said the company was delighted with the contract; "we fought off stiff competition to win this contract and it's a great testament to the service we offer, the people in our team and to our open and transparent approach to business.

"We will work with Enterprise to deliver the most cost-effective hire solutions as well as driving up service quality, ensuring best value, continual innovation and investment and delivering best practice safety and environmental standards.

"This also gives us a great opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of our HSS Outsource service as we audit Enterprise's owned assets nationwide and take over the management and maintenance of their ground care fleet".
